Winter approaches!

Colder days and nights as winter creeps in.  We've been spoilt by the mild autumn days, but now it's time for warm stews and sauces.  Today it's a tomato and veggie one for pasta.

Hospital tomorrow for Herceptin treatment.  Am going "au naturel" again with my new very, very short white head of hair.  Wonder if I am going down with a cold though as I have a rather sore throat.  So lots of honey and lemon drinks and probiotics, etc.

Detail from a card recently made.

Christmas shopping is now under way, I have made tentative starts and more often, stops, but hope all will be achieved before the 25th December!

Day in today!

Had a quieter day today after going for a walk at the Countryside Park yesterday, when we saw cherries, wild plums and damsons growing.  Looks as though it's going to be a good year for fruit.

Sun was so warm, nice to sit on a bench and watch the river, birds singing and I even saw one rabbit.   So had to stay in today, caught up on ironing and must try to remember that fruit looks to be ripening so much earlier this year, blackberries were on the bushes already in the park, very small and green, apples on trees also and even a couple of pears.

The end of May nearly.

Another month over nearly and 3 lots of chemo down.  Wish I hadn't felt so sick this time around, but I'm taking things easy and willing my hair to grow back!!

Since the rain the garden looks much better and although it's a windy day the plants look good.

Am going to make a strong tasting chicken curry for dinner tonight - trying to get the taste buds working again!

Mild March Morning!

Catkins in March
 Violets everywhere
Beautiful sunny morning and my first real walk since my operation in February.  What a  lovely day!  Bluebell Hill was a picture with violets everywhere you looked. Sun out and a mist over to Maidstone and beyond.  Yellow catkins hung on the bushes and the grass was so green.  Walked down the lane, but not to the end. Felt a bit tired but at least we got out there.  Calm before the storm.  Waiting to hear from the Hospital when my chemo starts, so best make the most of the days while I can.

New Year - New Beginnings

Well that was the snow that was! 2010 was certainly a year to remember too.  One of the worst I have had.

Let's hope 2011 is better - it really has to be I think.

Lovely day today, 11 January, cold and dark, lights on before midday, but a good book to read and copious cups of tea followed by chilli con carne tonight. I've an early start tomorrow so it's off to bed early tonight - might even have a hot bath before I retire for the night!!!

So far this year I have had one session of sauna and steaming which was lovely and I must repeat  soon, but no nice walks as the ground is so wet and slippery.

Could do with some of the sunshine we had in Gran Canaria at the end of November, so this picture might just bring a bit of warmth to chilly Britain.

Let's hope I can get in some French conversation lessons again, and I will try to make more of an effort to do more things this year!
